Preventing bullying by strengthening empathy, social-emotional competences and inclusive classroom practices. The course focuses on creating safe learning environments, early prevention strategies and whole-school approaches that promote respect, positive relationships and a strong sense of belonging.
Sending partners
Educational organisations involved in formal, non-formal and informal learning: kindergartens, schools, VET providers, adult education centres, training organisations, NGOs, resource centres and other institutions active in the education and adult learning field, established in Erasmus+ programme countries.
Participants
20–25 adults involved in education.
Course fee
According to the Erasmus+ Programme Guide: 80 EUR per participant per training day, including course preparation, training delivery, training materials, organisational and administrative costs, and 24-hour emergency support during the mobility.
Languages used
Working language: English.
Training materials are provided in English. Upon request, support or materials may be available in Spanish or French, depending on the group composition.
Profile of the participants
The course is designed for teachers, school staff and adult trainers working in the sending organisation who are interested in preventing bullying and strengthening inclusive classroom relationships.
Participants:
- Work with learners of different ages, abilities or social backgrounds
- May have previous experience or be beginners in bullying prevention or social-emotional learning
- Are interested in improving classroom climate, student wellbeing and positive behaviour
- Are willing to actively engage in experiential activities, role-play and collaborative planning
- Are open to intercultural learning and exchange of practices
- Are motivated to implement prevention strategies and to participate in preparatory and follow-up activities
- Aim to strengthen the European dimension of their institution through inclusive and wellbeing-oriented practices
Objectives
- Increase understanding of different forms and dynamics of bullying, including cyber and relational bullying
- Strengthen empathy, emotional awareness and positive communication among learners
- Develop practical classroom strategies for bullying prevention
- Learn safe and non-confrontational intervention techniques
- Empower students as active bystanders and peer supporters
- Support the development of inclusive classroom cultures and whole-school approaches
- Design implementation and dissemination plans for participants’ institutions
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Recognise early signs of bullying and identify risk and protective factors
- Apply empathy-based and social-emotional learning activities in the classroom
- Use non-confrontational strategies to respond safely and effectively to bullying situations
- Facilitate activities that empower bystanders and strengthen peer support
- Develop inclusive classroom agreements and positive behaviour practices
- Design and implement a school or classroom anti-bullying action plan
- Use evaluation tools to monitor climate, wellbeing and behavioural change
- Plan follow-up and dissemination activities to ensure sustainability at institutional level.
- Day 1 — Understanding Bullying and Inclusive Classrooms

- Exploring characteristics of inclusive and respectful classroom cultures

- Day 2 — Empathy, Emotional Awareness and Classroom Relationships

- Day 3 — Prevention Strategies and Non-Confrontational Intervention

- Day 4 — Empowering Bystanders and Strengthening School Culture
